82% of students reduced their high-risk behaviors

Communities In Schools works hand-in-hand with students on personal goals that help pave the way to success

We understand that many children have difficult lives.  And we believe that poor choices or negative influences early in a child's life shouldn't condemn that young person to a lifetime of failure.  Young people want to do the right thing, and we give them some important tools to move in the right direction.  During the 2009-2010 school year, 82 percent of the students we monitored reduced their high-risk behavior through a combination of services that included after-school programs, mentoring, counseling, conflict resolution and pregnancy prevention programs.
