88% of students were promoted to the next grade
Students receiving services from Communities In Schools are moving forward
Being held back in school can be a social stigma, and students who don't get promoted with their classmates often feel left behind and hopeless. During the 2009-2010 school year, the majority of students we served improved academic performance, and 88 percent of the students monitored for promotion risk went on to the next grade. When students receive needed resources like tutoring, basic health care services and guidance on making good choices, they thrive and are motivated to keep going.
