Innovative Programs

We develop national programs based on best practices for improving student achievement.

Our initiatives cover a broad spectrum of needs with innovative programs designed to engage and support students at various stages of their education.  Examples of these programs include:

Charting for Success

The Charting for Success curriculum guides students through developing a plan of action to continue their education beyond high school.  Charting for Success modules address key steps for college and career success.

Performance Learning Centers

Performance Learning Centers® (PLCs) are Communities In Schools' network of small, nontraditional high schools.  Using a self-paced curriculum, PLCs are academically rigorous and college preparatory, targeting young people who have not succeeded in a traditional learning environment.

Diplomas Now

Diplomas Now is a groundbreaking school turnaround model designed for the most challenged middle and high schools.  Developed by Communities In Schools, Talent Development at John Hopkins University and City Year, Diplomas Now combines research and evidence-based whole-school reform with an early warning system and multiple tiers of student support.
