Elaine Wynn honored for work to improve Nevada education

The Communities In Schools Chairman was honored by the National Child Labor Committee for her efforts to improve education in Nevada.

June 1, 2011/Las Vegas Review Journal-Elaine Wynn was honored Tuesday by the National Child Labor Committee with the 2011 Lewis Hines Award -- Distinguished Service Award for her efforts to improve education in Nevada.

Wynn, national chairwoman for Communities in Schools and a director of Wynn Resorts Ltd., is also the co-chairwoman of the Greater Las Vegas After School All-Stars, a nonprofit organization providing after-school activities for students in education, sports and the arts.
