Keeping Parents and Communities Engaged Act (Keeping PACE Act)
The Keeping Parents and Communities Engaged (Keeping PACE) Act supports students by supporting the work of Communities In Schools. This bill provides resources and opportunities for Communities In Schools to hire school-based coordinators to work with students in partner schools.
The Keeping PACE Act will provide money and support for Communities In Schools affiliates around the country. We are working to include the Keeping PACE Act in the Reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), and with it these components:
Competitive grants for schools and nonprofit organizations to provide integrated student services;
Integrated student services offered and supported as part of a school turnaround or transformation strategy;
Assurance that integrated student services are guided by research and implemented in a manner that is most effective based on research outcomes.
The federal government’s largest commitment to K-12 education, ESEA is expected to be renewed in the next two years. With your help, we can make sure that the ESEA legislation includes the Keeping PACE Act to provide resources for schools, Communities In Schools local affiliates, school-based coordinators and, most importantly, the students we support.
