Linda Gale White, wife of former Texas Governor Mark White, continues to make education and other children’s issues her top priority, just as she did during her term as First Lady of Texas. As First Lady, she helped establish, as part of the governor’s office, Communities In Schools of Texas. Communities In Schools began in five Texas cities and today has grown to 27 cities serving 875 schools. Mrs. White remains an active member of the national board of Communities In Schools and the Houston board of Communities In Schools. Mrs. White obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University. She and her husband live in Houston, and have three children and nine grandchildren.
