Michael Keithley

Chief Information Officer, United Talent Agency


Michael Keithley is the Chief Information Officer at United Talent Agency. UTA is one of the biggest talent agencies in the world, representing many of the world's most acclaimed figures in every current and emerging area of entertainment and media, including motion pictures, television, music, digital, broadcast news, books, theatre, video games, fine art and live entertainment. The agency is also globally recognized in the areas of film finance, film packaging, branding, licensing, endorsements and representation of production talent. UTA additionally provides corporate consulting, venture funding and strategic advisory services to companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies.

Prior to UTA, Michael served as the Chief Information Officer at Creative Artists Agency for 25 years.  In addition to his global Information Technology responsibilities, Mr. Keithley advised clients and companies on emerging digital business models, distribution platforms and other technology-related issues. Michael’s strong ties to Silicon Valley uniquely position him to be able to peer around the corner on how technology is going to shape the future of work and play.

Mr. Keithley is involved with several organizations that attempt to leverage technology to address education-related issues. Michael’s work in STEM education and advocacy led to him being named on of the “100 CIO/CTO Leaders in STEM” by STEMConnections.  He was nationally recognized when he received the President’s Volunteer Service Award for his work with the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Mr. Keithley works with a variety of organizations to support improved teaching and learning in America.

Mr. Keithley has served on the Board of Directors of the Fulfillment Fund and Communities In Schools of Los Angeles.  The Fulfillment Fund helps promising, yet educationally underserved and economically disadvantaged students achieve high school graduation and access to and completion of higher education through classroom instruction, college counseling, mentoring and scholarships. Since its founding in 2007, CIS of Los Angeles has grown to serve over 10,000 students and families per year at 10 traditional, Title 1 public schools across LAUSD, with over 6,000 students having received individual case management.

Prior to joining Creative Artists Agency, Mr. Keithley held several technology and management positions at Northrop Grumman Corporation and Motorola Inc.  He is a frequent industry speaker and served on the Loyola Marymount University Business Advisory Council.  Mr. Keithley is a graduate of Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems.
