Communities In Schools Honored by One World Trade Center Spire Lighting
One World Trade Center lit up its spire in blue to honor Communities In Schools' 40th anniversary and the millions of resilient students and high school grads it serves.
CIS is the largest national organization working directly inside public and charter schools building relationships that empower at-risk students to stay in school, graduate and succeed in life. The organization was founded 40 years ago to connect those students with the type of community resources they need to help them stay in school.
Whether it’s clean clothes, school supplies, help with school work, or emotional support to overcome trauma, the school based staff of Communities In Schools does whatever it takes to empower our students on their path to graduation.
For the 2015-2016 school year, Communities In Schools served nearly 1.5 million students and successfully helped 99 percent of our case-managed students stay in school and 91% of our eligible seniors graduate.
