“CIS gave me more than just the confidence to walk the graduation stage. It gave me a caring adult, a safe space to grow, real-world skills, and the opportunity to pay it forward. That kind of investment in a young person changes everything.” – Brianna, CIS alumna

How do students get connected to CIS site coordinators?

Answer: Students are connected to CIS in a variety of ways. Site coordinators review student data to identify those who might benefit from support, including students who are chronically absent, struggling academically, or experiencing behavioral challenges. Students also can be referred to CIS by school faculty. Some students even refer themselves after learning about CIS through school events or their peers.

No matter how a student comes to us, your kindness ensures they will receive the material, social, and emotional supports they need.

How does my support really make a difference?

Answer: When you give to CIS, you stand with students and show up for them in a way that supports their future. You make all our work possible. Last year, because of you …

  • CIS was inside 3,571 schools, serving students every day.
  • 96% of CIS seniors graduated or earned their GED.
  • 99% of CIS students showed up at school, ready to learn.

We do amazing things together, but 15 million students still aren’t making it to class. Your support today will help us reach more young people and change more lives.

Every dollar you give helps place site coordinators in schools, where they make sure students have what they need to succeed in school and beyond.

$50 gives site coordinators the tools to help more students make it to Graduation Day.

$96 celebrates the 96% of our seniors who graduate or receive a GED with help from our site coordinators.

$99 helps site coordinators ensure that 99% of our students show up at school each day, ready to learn.
