2023-2024 Data Book and State Profiles
During the 2023-2024 school year, CIS reached more students, supported more schools, and contributed to steady progress across the outcomes most connected to student engagement and learning.
Our network grew to 117 local affiliates and licensed partners across 27 states and the District of Columbia. Roughly 5,170 staff members worked alongside 22,300 community volunteers, engaging 348,000 parents and guardians in over 3,500 schools and community sites across the country.
Together, we surrounded more than two million students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life. Of our case-managed students, 96% remained in school and progressed to the next grade level or graduated from high school. Of those reporting plans after high school, nearly three-quarters planned to pursue a postsecondary education.
Data Book
The Data Book provides a comprehensive overview of the Communities In Schools network during the 2023-2024 school year, serving as tangible evidence of the impact of CIS nationwide. It presents data on various aspects of our work including human resources, student demographics, student support, and achievement. The data provided reflect the operations as reported by CIS organizations through our annual data collection process. Please note that the sample size for each data point may vary based on available information.
State Profiles
The State Data Profiles reflect CIS programming for the 2023-2024 school year, which includes 117 organizations (including state offices and licensed partners) in 27 states and the District of Columbia. The profiles include the following: students and schools served, staff and partnerships, supports provided and brokered, and case-managed student outcomes.
