Cecilia Lee

Cecilia Garcia Lee serves as Principal of Alumni Relations at the Communities In Schools National Office, where she leads the strategy and growth of a national alumni network. Working in partnership with affiliates across the country, she develops sustainable alumni engagement models focused on leadership opportunities, board representation, career and professional development pathways, and equitable storytelling.

Lee's connection to CIS runs deep. She joined Communities In Schools of Houston as a Case Manager at Milby High School before transitioning into development, where she led the organization's largest fundraising event for 13 years while cultivating the affiliate's alumni engagement efforts. In 2021, she was invited to bring that expertise to the CIS National Office, stepping into her current role in February 2023.

Earlier in her career, Lee supported the creation and expansion of Girl Scout troops in underserved communities at the Girl Scouts of San Jacinto Council — work that ignited her commitment to equity, access, and community-centered leadership.

An immigrant Latina who moved from Mexico to Houston at age three, Lee is a product of Houston's public schools and communities. She holds a Nonprofit Leadership Certification from Rice University.
